Role Overview

The Origination Associate is a key player in Finquest’s deal origination process, responsible for initiating conversations with senior executives and business owners. You’ll engage directly with decision-makers, introducing M&A opportunities on behalf of our clients and gathering valuable insights.

This role is ideal for someone who is personable, enjoys engaging in conversations, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated by results. You’ll work closely with Client Directors and Origination team members to ensure seamless communication and efficient deal flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with CEOs and executives to introduce acquisition opportunities and facilitate connections with our clients.
  • Develop rapport and build credibility with decision-makers, gaining insights into their businesses and strategic goals.
  • Support Client Directors by contributing to exceptional client service and project execution.
  • Enrich Finquest’s proprietary database with valuable insights from conversations with target companies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine outreach strategies and improve operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to process improvements, sharing ideas to enhance deal origination practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years in a sales, business development, or client-facing role.
    • Experience engaging with executives and decision-makers is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Confidence in handling high-level conversations and overcoming objections.
    • Ability to work within a CRM system; experience with Zoho CRM is a plus.
    • A goal-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
